Europa Park is one of the biggest and best amusement
parks in Europe.
Many prefer it to Disneyland Paris
or Italy’s Gardaland. Every part of the park replicates
the scenery of a different European country, its
architecture, food, and music. Most importantly, it
features many great rides, including excellent and
unique roller coasters. Some call the park ‘Europe’s
Epcot’. The park has over 100 attractions, including the
biggest and tallest roller coaster in Europe, sledding,
rafting in an African jungle, and a life-size model of
the Mir Space Station.
Munich is considered heaven for the shopping fans... The
city is loaded with stores, international brands and
markets, however the prices are high comparing to other
cities in Europe.
Munich has a number of main
shopping areas.
Rome is beauty, romance, culinary, culture, splendor, architecture, colorfulness and much more. The center of Rome is spread among seven hills east of the Tiber River, on both banks of which lays the city. Between the hills, that constitute the heart of the city, you will find the Capitoline Hill and the Palatine Hill, on which, according to tradition, the brothers Ramus and Romulus established Rome.
Alongside the history and art in Rome, shopping is an inseparable part of the fun. The place for all the brand stores and the more prestigious stores is the street Curso Via Del. the street begins from Piazza del Popolo and goes until Venezia Piazza, there you will find brand stores and prestigious stores like Ferrari and Swarovski. Fashion Designer fans are recommended visiting also at Condotti dei Via.
The best area for a family holiday in Italy is, without a doubt, the lakes area in the north of the country. The big lakes in that area are Garda, Como and Maggiore.
Austria is full of family attractions, and children of any age will enjoy it. It may not have famous amusement parks such as Disneyland of Efteling, but it has a variety of other attractions and beautiful scenery. The best areas for families to visit on a trip to Austria are, in my opinion, Tirol and Salzburg; but of course, there are things for children to do and see in Vienna as well: The famous ferris wheel in Wurstelprater, the Spanish Horse Riding School and a tour of Schoenbrunn Palace, which has its own charming gardens and a zoo.
Vienna is considered a prestigious city in Europe but shopping fans would be able to find in it stores suited for everyone: malls, shopping centers, markets and of course also main streets where you can buy everything.
The selection and number of attractions in London is very large, so that every visitor to the city will be able to find the attraction he likes. London has everything – art, street culture, music, museums, galleries, sport, restaurants, musicals, theater, history, heritage sites, churches, piazzas, parks, luxury shops, markets, and the list is still long.
During the whole year, but especially in the sales season, one of London's most famous shopping streets is Oxford St. More impressive stores are located in the street vertical to Oxford, Regent St.
Budapest is a fascinating city with a rich history,
fancy buildings in a variety of architecture styles and
plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. A wide river
separates it into two halves: Buda and Pest. Many large
bridges connect the two halves. The city is also full of
grand churches and has a rather impressive synagogue as
well.
A pleasant and easy way to start your visit to
Budapest is with a guided tour of two or three days.
Spain's capital - Madrid, is ideal for shopping fans. You will there completely everything- big shopping malls alongside small markets, small local stores together with worldwide chains, worthwhile department stores beside luxurious designer stores.
Barcelona is a city of food, sports, history and of course fashion. From the famous Ramblas Avenue up to Vell Port you will find every kind of store and in every price range. Like in Madrid, in Barcelona you will all so find many branches of the Spanish department store chain El Corte Ingles, but also many competitors’ branches, like Mark and Spencer.
A branch of the fantastic holiday village chain
Center Parcs opened its doors in May 2010. It is called
Le Trois Forêts and it is located in Lorraine in
France.
The village is located an hour’s drive from
Strasbourg in Alsace and an hour’s drive from Nancy in
Lorraine.
The holiday village offers excellent
lodging. It is located in the heart of a nature reserve, in
a beautiful forest with 35-metre tall trees and a wide river
flowing through it.
Holland is considered to be one of the best destinations
for a family holiday in Europe, and rightfully so.
It
has a wide range of family attractions, including great
amusement parks, zoos, active vacation (such as cycling,
boating, and skiing, even in the summer), museums
children will enjoy, markets, flower gardens,
picturesque towns and impressive big cities. Many
attractions are suitable for very young children as
well.
Like other countries in Europe, in Amsterdam you can also find shopping streets, shopping centers and markets. During the sales season in the winter and in the summer different stores offer discounts of 50 % and even more, so during the sales seasons is the more worthwhile time for shopping.
Slovenia is a small state,
which means there will be no long drives on your trip
there. You can stay somewhere in the centre of the
country and from there get anywhere in one hour at the
most. Slovenia has a population of only two million.
Despite its small size, this country is full of variety:
caves, beaches, lakes, natural springs, snowy mountains,
ancient towns, picturesque villages, castles, casinos –
you can find anything here. Thanks to the country’s
forests, which cover about half of it, Slovenia is one
of the greenest countries in the world.
The roads in
Slovenia are good and driving is easy and comfortable.
The Netherlands is considered one of the best countries for a family holiday, thanks to its great variety of family attractions. It has big amusement parks, water parks, zoos, interesting museums, fishing villages, boating, biking, and more. The selection of lodging in the Netherlands is also great and includes lovely holiday villages, farm houses and vacation homes.
I would like to disagree with the opinion of many
travellers who believe that it is best to visit
Scandinavia on an organised tour.
This article is not
about the ups and downs of organised tours. Every person
should decide for themselves what sort of trip is best
suitable for them.
This article is intended for
independent travellers who have already travelled to
different countries on their own, but are worried about
doing so in Scandinavia because of distances, because of
the roads, because of prices, and especially because
that is what their friends have done.
Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, a city where modernity goes hand in hand with ancient buildings of the past – is a fascinated and special tourist city, with its history interlaced with it nearly at every step.
Porto, is the second largest city in Portugal. It is an
important port city in the Atlantic Ocean.
In
Portuguese, the city is called O Porto meaning: the
port.
The Madeira islands are a subtropical archipelago islands located in the Atlantic Ocean about 980 kilometers southwest of Lisbon. Madeira has an impressive topography characterized by cliffs dramatically raised above sea level. The steep climb created six unique climate zones, in which one has a typical and unique vegetation, a fact that caused many to compare it to the Hawaiian Islands. It is called: “The Floating Gardens of the Atlantic”.
For many tourist around the world, Montenegro
remains a mystery. Even though during the summer months
the tiny country is crowded with tourists and the roads
are busy, there is still a feeling that they have not
yet fully discovered all its historical treasures and
secrets.
You can get to Montenegro by flying to the
Tivat airport close to Kotor. Or you can get there via
the nearby Dubrovnik city or on flights from a variety
of European destinations, such as Italy.
As a huge fan of islands who has visited Hawaii, Fiji,
the islands of Thailand and the Caribbeans, I decided it
was time to explore another set of islands that are great
to visit during the winter for people living in the
northern hemisphere.
They are an excellent destination
for any time of the year. In the winter, the maximum
temperature is between 20-25 degrees Celsius, and in the
summer it does not go above 30 degrees. Most of the islands
– especially their south sides – are blue-skied and sunny.
In short, perfect weather!
Austria is a small country in central Europe famous for its beautiful scenery on the one hand – lots of green views and snow-capped mountains which are a heaven for skiers – and its rich culture on the other hand: castles, churches, museums and lots of music. The variety of attractions in the country is so great that anyone will find something to love about it.
Salzburg is the second largest city in Austria. It has a population of 150,000 people. It is a picturesque city with narrow streets, wide squares, colourful houses, castles, palaces, churches, gardens and fountains. It lies between tall mountains and the Salzach River flows through it, laying out a beautiful backdrop for a beautiful city of baroque-style buildings with towers and spires. Thanks to its incredible architecture, the old centre of the city has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site.
Suggestions for star trips in Salzburg:
Eisriesenwelt ice caves – the largest and most
impressive ice cave in Europe. Durenberg Salt Mines,
and near them, the longest alpine slides in Austria,
Keltenblitz Toboggan Slide.
Karkogel alpine slide in
Abtenau.
Helbrunn Castle – a castle known for its
water tricks.
A visit to the beautiful city of
Salzburg and more.
The most comfortable way to travel in Austria with your family is by staying in one vacation home for a week and from there, travelling to destinations up to 90 minutes away. The ideal place to stay is a charming farmhouse in the mountains, in a place that is peaceful and pastoral on the one hand but close to a main road on the other. It should be a place that is fun to return to at the end of a day of travelling. Even staying around it for the whole day without any driving around should be a fun option.
