Recommended hotels in the Plitvice Lakes National Park area
The reserve is located about an hour and a half drive south of Zagreb,
the capital of Croatia. There are several hotels in it, but it is cheaper and nicer
to stay in one of the many B and Bs scattered around it in the villages
and neighboring settlements. It is highly recommended to stay in the town of Slunj
SLUNJ located about 30 km north of the reserve (towards
Zagreb). The town has a charming preserved quarter, named "Rastoke Quarter"
RASTOKE which is also a nature reserve with ancient houses sinking
in rich vegetation (most of them B and Bs) among which are many streams and waterfalls.
Wooden small bridges connect the houses in the place. Outside the quarter as well, there is a fairly large selection of B and Bs and restaurants. The town is a meeting point of
rivers, and on hot summer days, it is recommended to refresh by swimming in the clear river water.
In Slunj SLUNJ there are
mainly guest rooms and B and Bs.
Those interested in apartments can
stay between Slunj and Plitvice Park in one of the small towns.

Recommended hotels in Dubrovnik and its surroundings
Pucic Palace is a luxury and unique hotel located in the center of
the old city. During the Renaissance, it was one of the most magnificent noble houses
and later became a favorite residence for
senators and famous artists who visited the city. The hotel has 19
spacious rooms with elegant furniture and close personal service. A private yacht

The hotels in the new city
are concentrated in several quarters, the closest of all to the old city is
the PLOCE quarter where mostly luxury and expensive hotels are located,
all located on the seashore.
Hotel Excelsior is a luxury 5-star hotel located near
the old city. The hotel built in 1913 underwent an extensive renovation in
1998 and has 154 rooms and 18 suites. The hotel is located by the sea
and many rooms in it overlook a lovely view of the sea and the old city. Prices
of rooms (including breakfast) range between 135 euros for a room without a view
(off-season) and up to 540 euros for an apartment at the peak of the season. Adjacent to it are
two more luxury hotels:
Grand Villa Argentina
bathed in a tropical park with a private
beach two kilometers long and the hotel
Villa Orsula surrounded by gardens and known for its quality restaurant.
These hotels are located within a walking distance of about 10 minutes from the old
city.
Many hotels are located in three more distant quarters, close to the new port of Dubrovnik, within up to 10
minutes' drive from the old city. LAPAD quarter, BABIN KUK quarter and GRUZ quarter. In these quarters you can
find hotels of all levels.
It is important to note that in Croatia usually only four-star hotels and above have air conditioning.
It is worth taking this into account, especially in the hot summer months.

CAVTAT located about 20 km south of Dubrovnik. The town
is built on two tongues of land jutting into the sea between which is a small port
from which ships sail frequently to Dubrovnik. Between Cavtat
and Dubrovnik there is also regular bus service. Hotel prices
in Cavtat are cheaper than in Dubrovnik itself and the atmosphere of the town
is peaceful and romantic. Besides hotels and private guest houses, Cavtat is also known for its successful beaches and sports facilities, especially
its many water sports. The most expensive and impressive hotel in the town
is
"Hotel Croatia" CROATIA a 5-star rating, which constitutes
a tourist and architectural attraction in its own right. The hotel is located on
a cliff surrounded by the sea and offers a magnificent view of the bay, the sea and the islands.
The hotel has about 500 rooms, restaurants, a casino, two pools, two beaches
, tennis courts and beautiful walking paths along the cliff and it is considered
the most beautiful and best hotel along the entire Adriatic coast. Prices
of accommodation (including breakfast) at the hotel range between 45 and 100 euros
per person in a double room depending on the view (it is highly recommended to take a room overlooking
the sea, you will get to watch magnificent sunsets) and the season.
