Travel and Fun in Water Parks and Hot Springs in Switzerland
One of the most popular attractions in Switzerland, in addition to cable cars and mountain peaks, is water parks, thermal hot spring parks, and spa resorts.
They are scattered throughout almost the entire length and breadth of the country and serve as an ideal solution for any weather: from heatwave days when you want to escape the heat in a country where air conditioning is virtually nonexistent by spending time in refreshing pools, to what is unfortunately more common, rainy, cold, and foggy days when hiking in nature, mountains, or lakes is not recommended. Spending time in the warm waters of indoor pools, lazy rivers, and indoor water slides—along with hot tubs, saunas, and hammams—is an ideal, pampering, and enjoyable solution suitable both for energetic kids and for parents seeking massages and relaxation.
Another advantage of water parks in Switzerland is that they are generally open until late in the evening, unlike most other tourist attractions and sites in the country that typically close around 16:00–17:00.
This allows you, after a day of sightseeing in nature or exploring a city, to enjoy water fun and spa pampering before heading back to your accommodation.

Parks in Western Switzerland (French Switzerland)
"Aqua Parc" Water Park
The water park Aqua Parc is located on the eastern shore of Lake Geneva in the town of Le Bouveret. It is a large, modern water park, partially indoor and therefore suitable for any weather, featuring an abundance of water slides, pools (including wave pools and current channels), and a large water play area for toddlers.
A bridge connects the water park to the lakeshore, where you will find a pleasant beach packed with water activities, boating options, and active recreation. Adjacent to the lakefront is a large outdoor swimming pool. An ideal place for active, high-energy kids looking for thrills and adrenaline.
Miniature and Train Park
Adjacent to the water park is a miniature and train park for little ones, as well as a marina with a lovely lakeside promenade.
Les Bains De Lavey Thermal Baths
Those who prefer a more serene and pampering experience in western Switzerland are invited to visit the high-quality thermal baths of Les Bains De Lavey, known for having the warmest spring water in Switzerland. The water is cooled down to a comfortable temperature of around 36 degrees Celsius. The complex offers a variety of pools—some indoor and some open-air—featuring whirlpool currents, massage water jets, and bubble lounger seats. All pools and hot tubs are kept at the same temperature. Lockers, changing cabins, showers, and towel rentals are available on-site.
Baths in Eastern Switzerland:
Tamina Therme Thermal Baths
Thermal water baths located in the town of Bad Ragaz. This town is well known for its natural thermal springs and is home to several other spa facilities, though smaller in scale.
Tamina Therme is a large and exceptionally beautiful thermal bath complex housed in an impressive structure that also features a hotel and a spa center. It offers large water pools and whirlpools at various temperatures: 34, 36, and 39 degrees Celsius (there is also a cold plunge pool at just 17 degrees for the brave). All pools are equipped with water currents, air bubbles, and gentle waterfalls.
The site also includes a large spa area, a cafe, and a restaurant. Adjacent to the baths is a large casino.
Indoor Hot Springs Park in Northern Switzerland:
Aquabasilea Hot Springs Park
In the city of Basel, the city of Herzl, adjacent to the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, lies the Aquabasilea thermal water park. It features a wide variety of heated pools filled with special effects, lazy rivers, slides, a hammam, and saunas. Suitable for all ages, catering both to active fun-seekers and those looking for relaxation and indulgence. It is the largest indoor thermal springs park in Switzerland, modern and opened to the general public just a few years ago.
Water Park in Central Switzerland:
"Alpamare" Water Park
The "Alpamare" water park is located in the town of Pfäffikon. Mainly fed by thermal spring water and predominantly indoor, it features several pools, including a wave pool and an indoor surfing pool, a diverse range of effect-rich water slides, and numerous hot tubs with bubble jets and water currents. It is suitable for all weather conditions and popular with both children and parents. Located about a 20-minute drive southeast of Zurich Airport, it can easily be visited on your last day before an evening or night flight on the way to the airport (well-equipped locker rooms and showers are available). Another similar park run by the same chain is located in the Bavaria region of Germany, south of Munich.
Water Park and Spa in Southern Switzerland:
"Tamaro" Water Park and Spa - Splash & Spa Tamaro SA
This is a modern water park (opened in 2014) offering a wide range of innovative and exciting amenities: five state-of-the-art water slides with special effects, a wave pool, a panoramic outdoor pool, numerous hot tubs, and a dedicated play area for young children.
The park is located at the Monte Ceneri Pass, about a 20-minute drive north of Lugano in the canton of Ticino, southern Switzerland. The water park sits right next to Mount Tamaro, whose summit features an alpine coaster, an adventure rope park, and many other attractions.
It can also be visited as a day trip from northern Italy, around the Lake Maggiore area.
