Description of the Place:
An impressive and expansive spa resort in northeastern Slovenia, located 55 km (about a 1 hour drive) northeast of Maribor, 2.25 hours (180 km) northeast of Ljubljana, 2 hours (135 km) north of Zagreb, 2 hours and 40 minutes (240 km) south of Vienna, and 4 hours from Budapest (Hungary).
The site features three hotels (two 4-star and one 5-star, opened in September 2006), vacation apartments, and a campsite. The main surrounding attraction is the Thermal Riviera: a giant water park (covering 5,000 square meters) with numerous pools including current and massage pools, black mud pools, water slides, diving boards, saunas, and jacuzzis. The water in all the pools and slides consists of natural spring waters known for their healing properties, at temperatures ranging between 26 and 38 degrees Celsius. Thanks to the water park's enormous size and the variety of its facilities, even at the peak of the season, crowding is not felt and there are almost no lines for the various facilities.
Part of the water park is indoor, making visits suitable for all seasons, and it is also popular during snowy winter months. It is a true paradise for water lovers of all ages, starting from toddlers who will enjoy splashing in the warm and pleasant spring waters, through children and teenagers whose main attraction is the many water slides, up to adults and even seniors for whom bathing in the massage pools and various treatments provided on site (at an additional cost) such as various types of massages, mud treatments, etc., will delight them and improve their health. Entrance to the water park and thermal pools is free and unlimited when staying at one of the hotels or vacation apartments (except for the spa and thermal pools of the AJDA and LIVADA hotels, which are intended for the guests of those hotels only).

In the summer months, a colorful weekend market is held in the resort where local farmers and area artisans sell their produce and crafts. In addition, musical, dance, and song performances of local music take place.
Those looking for challenges and more special activities can fly in a helicopter, fly in a hot air balloon, ride in a horse-drawn carriage, play paintball, and a host of other activities organized by the resort's activity office.

to pop over for a visit to neighboring Hungary. In the village close to the border, LENTI, a colorful market is held where you can look for bargains. The town of MONOSZLO / Szentgotthárd (also in Hungary) is also popular with shopping enthusiasts.
Another successful day trip is to the city of MARIBOR, one of the largest cities in Slovenia.
Near the city is a winter ski resort named POHORJE, which serves in the summer as a vacation resort with a cable car, numerous walking trails on the mountain peak, horseback riding, and an adventure park featuring a chairlift, alpine slides, a rope park, and for the daring also mountain biking and scooter rides down the mountain (quite a dangerous experience in my opinion, but very popular).
On the way back, it is worth visiting the oldest old town in Slovenia, PTUJ, to wander its narrow alleys and climb the castle located on a hill in the center of the city to overlook the beautiful landscape.
