Glacier Exhibition Center

At the town's visitor center, there is also a glacier exhibition center that is not to be missed! The center opened in June 2005 and offers visitors an enriching and fascinating experience. First, it is recommended to watch a 9-minute film explaining the volcanic eruptions that occurred in the glacier. Afterwards, you will walk through the center's exhibits and learn about Icelandic nature, animals, flora, and geology. In the center, you will also find a wealth of information about glaciers and even visit a special ice cave model. The glacier exhibition center is open from the beginning of June until the end of August, seven days a week.
