A large spa resort in eastern Slovenia, about a one-hour drive from Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, and about a 40-minute drive from Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
The resort features three hotels (3 and 4 stars), vacation apartments, and a campsite.
The main attraction around which the resort is built consists of two thermal rivieras with a total pool area of over 10,000 square meters: one covered, called the Winter Thermal Riviera, and the second open-air, called the Summer Thermal Riviera. These are essentially two large water parks with numerous pools including wave pools, current and massage pools, water slides, a lazy river, saunas, and whirlpools. The water in all the pools and slides is natural spring water with temperatures ranging between 28 and 36 degrees Celsius. This is a true paradise for water lovers of all ages: from toddlers who will enjoy splashing in the warm and pleasant spring water, to children and teens whose main attraction is the numerous water slides, to adults and seniors for whom bathing in the massage pools and enjoying various treatments available on-site (for an additional fee)—such as various types of massages, mud treatments, and more—will delight them and improve their health. The Winter Thermal Riviera is open year-round, while the Summer Thermal Riviera is open from mid-April until mid-October.

For families, it is highly recommended to stay in one of the hundreds of vacation homes on-site. Entry to the thermal rivieras is free twice a day for guests staying at one of the hotels or holiday apartments.

Terme Čatež is built on the banks of a wide, flowing river, and it is lovely to take walking tours in its surrounding area. A short drive away, set in a magnificent castle, is a unique golf hotel named Golf Grad Mokrice in the heart of a vineyard region. Even if you are not avid golf enthusiasts, it is recommended to visit and see the impressive castle and expansive golf grounds. This hotel is considered part of the Terme Čatež complex.
It is worth noting that across Slovenia there are many other spa resorts that also boast a variety of pools and activities, but Terme Čatež is without doubt the largest and most impressive of them all.
