Lalandia Holiday Resorts in Denmark
The Lalandia chain in Denmark has two high-quality holiday resorts with large indoor water parks. These holiday resorts are a paradise for families. They are suitable for active vacation lovers, thanks to the abundance of attractions and activities they offer, but on the other hand, they are also great for those coming to catch some peace and relaxation.
1. Lalandia Billund Resort
A 4-star holiday village with a water park.
Location:
Right next to the Legoland park! Near the town of Billund, about a three-hour drive west of Copenhagen.
Description of the Place:
A large water park called Aquadome, sized at 10,000 square meters, with indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, and jacuzzis. The water temperature in the Aquadome is 28 degrees Celsius and the air temperature is 30 degrees Celsius. Admission to the park is free for guests staying at the resort. The site also features a fitness room, a sports playground, indoor mini-golf, bowling, and more.
The accommodations are in spacious cottages with a living room, kitchen, and dining area. Equipment includes an electric stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Private parking is next to each cottage. Free internet.
Nearby Attractions:
1. Adjacent to the holiday park, a five-minute drive away, is a pleasant family attraction: Legoland.
2. About twenty kilometers northeast of the holiday park, you can spend time at a zoo safari park called: Givskud Zoo.
3. A sculpture park named Skulpturpark, located about half a kilometer from the holiday park.
4. Cycling. The area is flat and great for family bike rides in the surrounding area.
2. Lalandia Rødby
A 3-star holiday village with a water park.
Location:
Southern Denmark on the Baltic Sea coast in the Lolland region, near the town of Rødby. Located about 150 km south of Copenhagen.
Description of the Place:
The site features an indoor water park measuring 7,500 square meters with a wave pool, slides, jacuzzis, a solarium, saunas, and a toddlers' pool. The air temperature in the water park is 30 degrees Celsius all year round, and the water temperature is 28 degrees Celsius. Admission to the water park is free for those staying in the village. The place is magnificently designed with rich tropical vegetation, currents, and waterfalls. The park has a fast-food self-service restaurant.
A large play area (partially indoor) called Monky Tonky Land is especially suitable for the youngest in the group, but children aged 10-12 will also find plenty of interest: climbing walls, trampolines, pedal cars, panning for "gold" in a "river" are just an example of the activities on site. The activity is free of charge.
Sports enthusiasts will delight in tennis, badminton, basketball, and football courts. Those who prefer can play mini-golf, table tennis, or bowling. Most sports areas are indoor, so you do not depend on the whims of the sky and do not need to hope for favorable weather. Rental of sports courts and equipment involves a fee.
Animal lovers will enjoy the "Goat Farm" where you can walk around freely, pet and feed goats and sheep.
On the other hand, anyone who misses computer games can have fun in "Little Las Vegas", an electronic games arcade.
The holiday village has an adjoining beach. It is hard for me to believe that many Israelis (accustomed to the warm Mediterranean Sea temperature) will swim in this sea, but it is nice to walk along the coast and watch the ferries.
The village has an indoor entertainment and restaurant area with a respectable variety of options (and prices): pizzeria, Burger Cafe, Steak House, a family restaurant, and a pub. Barbecue evenings are sometimes held on site. Entertainment shows and disco nights are held at the pub.
Nearby there is a supermarket (belonging to a well-known European chain named SPAR) where you will find everything you desire.
Every place can be reached by car and there is ample parking.
Description of the Houses:
There are five types of houses. The smallest for 3 people and the largest for 8 people. All houses are built in a triangle shape, with most bedrooms on the second (sloped) floor, and the lower floor containing the living room (with a sofa bed), kitchen, toilet, and shower. The apartment area is not large, but well utilized. Each house has a nice private courtyard with a table, chairs, and a lawn. Near each group of houses, there is a playground.
The kitchen is well-equipped and stocked. There are four garbage bins, each intended for a different type of waste: plastic, glass, paper, and organic waste. Environmental awareness in Scandinavia in general, but in Denmark in particular, is especially high.
The houses are not new, but the furniture and equipment are quite new. In the evening, make sure to close the windows and doors because this is the prime time for mosquitoes and various flying insects, and then keep in mind that it might get warm (especially on the second floor), because like everywhere in Scandinavia, there is no air conditioning in the houses.
A stay of at least two days is required at the holiday village. It is important to note that the price does not include bed linen and towels, which must be paid for separately (very common throughout Scandinavia).
