Trips in the SkiWelt Region in the Tyrol Region

The SkiWelt region is a huge ski resort shared by two adjacent tourism areas:

Wilder Kaiser Region Wilder Kaiser

in the northern Kitzbühel Alps, which includes four towns and several tiny villages. The largest town is Söll, the westernmost of all. The second largest town, considered the most beautiful of all, is Ellmau, where the main regional tourist office is located. Its address: 6352 Ellmau Dorf 35.

The two additional towns are Scheffau and Going.

The hotel is located on an area of 6,000 square meters with an extensive lawn inhabited by small animals like rabbits and goats. The hotel includes 2 buildings located side by side. Brixental Region

South of the Wilder Kaiser region, which includes three towns located in a charming valley at the foot of the Alps: Westendorf, Brixen im Thale, and Kirchberg in Tirol, where the main tourist office of the region is located. Its address: Hauptstraße 8, 6365 Kirchberg in Tirol.

Six "Amusement Worlds"

The SkiWelt region serves in winter as a very popular ski resort. From each of the towns in the valley at its feet, ski lifts and cable cars depart to various ski slopes on the peaks, but in summer SkiWelt becomes a very popular destination for active vacation and hiking enthusiasts, especially families with young children, thanks to six magical "amusement worlds" located in the mountains, all of which can be reached by cable cars. All these cable cars are included in the KASC card.
In addition to SkiWelt, it has its own summer tourism card: SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser which includes rides on 14 cable cars reaching, among other places, the six amusement worlds. You can purchase a ticket for one day, two days, or any number of days you want up to 14 days. The greater the number of days, the lower the price per day. Children up to age 5 are free, while children aged 5-16 pay half price. This card is slightly cheaper than the Kitzbühel Alps summer card KASC, which includes many more attractions and is successful for those arriving for a period of less than three days to the region or for those staying in the region and wanting to tour only it and the abundance of attractions it offers and not the rest of the Kitzbühel Alps parts.

The six amusement worlds are:

Alpinolino

Alpine discovery park in Westendorf near the upper cable car station of the town (at an altitude of 1760 meters), reached by the Alpenrosenbahn cable car, where you will walk following a guide named "Wise Alec" on a circular trail 1.5 km long between 12 different stations, at each of which a different adventure requires engaging the senses (smell, taste, touch, hearing, and of course sight). The motto of the place: "Play, explore and discover." At each station a puzzle or riddle to be solved while playing and having fun. Among the stations are a rope bridge, treehouse, adventure playground, bouncy castle, and more. The scenery viewed along the entire trail is breathtaking.

Ellmi's Magic World Ellmi´s Zauberwelt

A seven-minute ride in a funicular (cable railway) from the town of Ellmau will lead you to an amusement and adventure garden located near the upper railway station at an altitude of 1555 meters. The symbol of the place is a magic frog named Ellmi.
The facilities are based on fairy tales, magicians, goblins, and spirits and are integrated into magical nature. In addition to amusement facilities, the place has a rock park, observation towers, and an easy forest walking trail.
Adjacent to the park is a restaurant (self-service) with a huge terrace overlooking the valley view spread out below and the Wilder Kaiser ridge rising on the other side of the valley.

"Hexenwasser" Witch Water Park

An amusement park located between the Hoch-Söll cable car station (at an altitude of 1115 meters) and the Stocklalm hut located half a km west at an altitude of 1124 meters. This is a park combining water activity with various amusements related in one way or another to witches, as required by its name. In the park are various paddling pools (for feet only, not for full swimming), a water maze, water channels, and a charming "barefoot" path. Various activities take place at the place (some daily and some once or twice a week) such as bread baking, cheese making, schnapps distillation, flour grinding, sundial making, honey harvesting, and more.
Between the various stations runs a circular path, and another circular path enters the forest and passes among pleasant amusement facilities.
It is recommended to combine the visit to the place with a half-hour cable car ride to the peak of Hohe Salve from where you will set out for an easy walk of about half a minute, on a trail called "Peak Panorama" from which you will win an amazing view of more than 70 peaks higher than 3000 meters. Along the trail are 12 sundials and wind vanes.

"Emperor's World" Amusement Park KaiserWelt Scheffau

Located at the upper cable car station of the cable car departing from Scheffau and reaching Brandstadl. This is an adventure park, located at an altitude of 1650 meters in a wooded area and featuring numerous wooden amusement facilities including a variety of swings, slides, treehouses, a small zip line, a trampoline, climbing and balance trails. From the garden depart several short circular hiking trails 2-4 km long, suitable for families, which also hide additional amusement facilities.
Here too, like on all the peaks, is a self-service restaurant with a large view terrace and sun loungers.

Magical Filzalm Lake Zauberhafter Filzalmsee

Amusements and attractions for children mostly related to water and including, in addition to paddling pools and water jets, also a barefoot path, mud pool, foot massage, children's sand playground, treehouses, a giant eye through which you can look and see everything upside down, a giant hand operated by ropes, children's adventure trails, and additional surprises. The site is located near a pastoral lake, reached by riding the Hochbrixen cable car and a leisurely walk of about five minutes. At the lake is a "biotope" through which you can peek at the animals living in it.

Hohe Salve

The highest peak in the SkiWelt resort, 1829 meters high, which can be reached either from the town of Söll in Wilder Kaiser by two cable cars or from the town of Hopfgarten in the Brixental valley by a series of three cable cars. The total ascent duration is about half an hour. The scenery viewed from the peak is considered one of the most beautiful in the Alps. Since this is the highest peak in the region, it allows a 360-degree panoramic view of the many distant mountain ridges without obstruction. From the upper cable car station departs a short circular path surrounding the peak and allowing a wonderful view in all directions. At the peak is also a charming adventure park, especially suitable for toddlers, as well as a church named Salvenkirchlein built in 1589 which is considered the highest church in Austria.
