The island of La Palma is known as "The Green Island". Its area is about 700 sq km, and approximately 85,000 residents live there. It is a mountainous island with diverse and distinct landscapes. The south of the island is desert-like and volcanic, while in other areas you can find beaches, waterfalls, banana plantations, and many trees.

The cruise port is located in the city of Santa Cruz, where you can also take an independent walking tour for about an hour and a half to two hours along a circular route starting from the tourist information center, situated at the port exit. The route passes through the city's historic streets, main squares, and a replica of Columbus's historic ship, the "Santa Maria".

The tour departs from the port pickup point, but the first stop is the "Rock of the Boys", Roque de Los Muchachos, which stands at an elevation of 2,426 meters above sea level. There, you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the volcanic crater, Caldera de Taburiente. The crater is 10 km wide and 2,400 meters high, making it the most visited spot on the island. Nearby is also one of the largest observatories in the world, which is one of the most important sites for astronomical observation in the Northern Hemisphere.
Afterwards, you will continue by bus to the town of Garafia, where you will visit the farmers' market in Puntagorda offering fruit, vegetables, cakes, baked goods, and natural juices alongside cigars, clothing, and bags.
