General Information
The city of Cáceres has about one hundred thousand residents and is located in western Spain. It fits nicely into a trip between Madrid and Seville, or between Madrid and Lisbon in Portugal.
Cáceres features a huge, remarkably well-preserved old town that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site thanks to its diverse architecture, which includes Moorish, Gothic, Roman, and Renaissance styles.

This is a very large square surrounded by buildings, including the 19th-century City Hall,
