Ferleiten Wildlife & Leisure Park

A wildlife park located at an altitude of 1,140 meters above sea level, featuring 200 various animals typical of the Alpine region. Among them are numerous deer, wild goats, and marmots. A walking trail runs among the animals. A leisurely walk takes about an hour. In the middle of the park is a small lake surrounded by benches for resting and an observation tower. Nearby is an amusement park with a selection of nice rides, mostly suitable for young children, though older kids will also greatly enjoy some of them (for example, a boat rushing down into the water on a special track). The location also features a cafe-restaurant with a large terrace and a gift shop.

The park is located near the starting point of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and fits in wonderfully before or after driving the road (depending on which direction you arrive from).

Hochalm Bird-of-Prey Station

In the Hohe Tauern National Park, on top of Mount Ahorn reached by a quick cable car ride, a modern research and breeding station for birds of prey (opened in 2007) awaits you, where you can learn up close about owls and other alpine birds of prey characteristic of the region and witness an impressive flight show where the owls fly very close to your heads. At the summit are nice hiking trails in the forest and following minerals, as well as an opportunity for gold panning using traditional methods. The place features an alpine restaurant with a large terrace overlooking the open scenery.
You can purchase a round-trip cable car ticket or a ticket for ascending only and descending on foot. Entrance to the research station is at an additional cost. Discount for children up to age 15. Free for Salzburg Land Card holders.

Gut Aiderbichl Animal Farm

A large animal farm with a huge yard whose guiding principle for its founders is that humaneness should not exist for humans alone. The starting point is the love of animals, rescuing animals, and protecting them. The farm has more than 600 domestic and farm animals, including about 200 horses. This is the opportunity to meet, feed, and pet rabbits, geese, dogs, cats, cows, goats, donkeys, and pigs—all well-groomed and well-cared for. Every hour, a guided tour is held at the farm, which also includes a ride on a small train around the place.
The farm is located in the lake district of the Salzburg region, about 20 minutes northeast of the city of Salzburg.

Monkey Park Abenteuer Affenberg in the Carinthia region Karnten

The park is located near the city of Villach. The park features dozens of Japanese macaques roaming freely in a large, fenced forest reserve. Guided tours enter the park in groups, and the monkeys roam near visitors. It is best to arrive at feeding time and see the monkeys at their peak alertness, snatching the food thrown at them.

In the park, located in the eastern Salzkammergut region, there are forests, valleys, and small lakes that provide a natural and protected living environment for the seventy species of animals living there. The park has brown bears, wildcats, bisons, deer, and wolves.
In the small lakes, you will frequently encounter water birds. In addition, you will witness many birds of prey. The park has convenient and easy walking trails suitable for strollers. On some days, guided tours in small groups are held on-site.

Hochkreut Wildpark Wildlife Park

A park with over 300 wild animals located on a hill at an altitude of almost 1,000 meters above sea level between Lake Attersee and Lake Traunsee in the center of the Salzkammergut region.
The park has deer, roe deer, wild goats, and other horned animals, alongside wild boars, horses, and birds of prey. The emphasis in the park is on caring for wild animals, the connection between them and humans, and the desire to provide them with as natural an environment as possible.
On site, there is a nature trail, a frog pond, gardens, and a small museum with a geological display. The park offers a beautiful view of the region's mountains.

"Agrarium" Park

A large (10 acres) and diverse park combining gardens, animals, dinosaurs, and adventures. Located in the northeastern corner of the region and suitable for those arriving from the direction of Vienna or Linz.
In a third of the park's area live farm animals, including goats, rabbits, pigs, horses (including the smallest horse in the world), ostriches, geese, and more. Many of them can be fed and petted. The park features 60 gardens of various types whose total length is 2 km, including fruit gardens from which you can pick and taste. Also in the park are statues of dinosaurs and ancient mammals that you can climb on, wooden playground equipment, and plenty of activities, including bread making, a tractor-guided tour, and more.
