Yoho Park in the Canadian Rockies
Itineraries: Detailed travel itineraries in Canada (Free)
Yoho Park is located 86 km northwest of Banff. Entering Yoho Park is also entering British Columbia.
In this park, there are three especially recommended attractions: Takakkaw Falls, Natural Bridge, and Emerald Lake. Altogether, you can spend about 3-4 hours in this park to see these three attractions and enjoy them. Of course, you can spend much more time in the park if you are interested in long hikes or boating on the lake.

Attractions in Yoho Park
Takakkaw Falls
About a quarter-hour drive from the northern entrance to the park on Highway No. 1, there is a right turn onto the road leading to Takakkaw Falls. This is one of the highest waterfalls in Canada, dropping from a height of about 250 meters. Very impressive. A short path leads from the parking lot close to it, for those who want to get wet from the heavy spray it spreads nearby.
Takakkaw Falls:
Natural Bridge
To the Natural Bridge, you arrive about 25 minutes from the entrance. The waters of the Kicking Horse River have carved an opening in the rock, creating a kind of narrow bridge under which the water penetrates and emerges from the other side with force. The site is close to the parking lot.
Natural Bridge:
Continuing north about five kilometers from the Natural Bridge, you reach Emerald Lake. This is a beautiful turquoise-colored lake surrounded by high mountains. On a spit of land protruding into the lake, an apartment hotel called Emerald Lake Lodge has been built. It is worth crossing the bridge leading to the hotel and walking through it, because among the cabins located on the lakeshore you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the lake and the mountains opposite it.
Emerald Lake:
Near the bridge leading to the hotel, there are boats for rent.
Nearby, there is a 700-meter uphill trail leading to a unique little waterfall called Hamilton Falls.
Additional Recommended Accommodations:
You can also stay in the town of Canmore, located east of the park (about a quarter-hour east of the town of Banff).
