On this trip, you will see the best of three provinces in Eastern Canada: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Quebec. This is a diverse trip combining visits to large and impressive cities: Halifax, Quebec City, and Montreal, along with small towns, villages, and wonderful nature that includes unique natural phenomena.
The route can be started in Montreal or in reverse from Halifax. Montreal was chosen as an endpoint because there are direct flights to it from Israel.
On this route, you explore the large and interesting city of Halifax, from which you can take day trip excursions south to Lunenburg and west to the Annapolis Valley wine region—either as a day trip or as part of the drive toward Cape Breton Island, where you travel along the famous Cabot Trail. Afterward, you visit Moncton and its surroundings, the Gaspé Peninsula, Quebec City, and Montreal.

Halifax
Halifax is the capital city of Nova Scotia, located on the eastern edge of Canada on the Atlantic coast. It is also the largest city in Nova Scotia and the cultural and economic center of the province. It is a beautiful and vibrant city with a large port that serves as one of the largest cruise ports in Canada. The cruise port is located in the heart of the city, adjacent to the long and beautiful boardwalk.
Halifax also serves as an excellent starting point for a day trip to the Annapolis Valley wine region.

From Halifax, it is highly recommended to take a day trip south to Peggys Cove and Lunenburg:
Peggys Cove
The most visited and famous town in Nova Scotia, Canada, is Peggys Cove, located about 45 minutes (45 km) southwest of Halifax. The town features a picturesque lighthouse perched on rounded rocks and a charming harbor. Additional details can be found in the article on trips from Halifax.
Lunenburg
Lunenburg is located along the coast southwest of Halifax, about an hour and fifteen minutes' drive (100 km). In this town, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, every house is painted a different color, giving it a pictorial appearance. Cape Breton Island
In the north of Nova Scotia, at the eastern tip of Canada, lies Cape Breton Island, which hosts a national park of the same name encircled by an impressive and famous scenic road called the Cabot Trail. This island is connected to the mainland by a bridge, so there is no need to take a ferry to reach it.
It is recommended to stay in the town of Baddeck, located in the center of the island, and use it as a base for day trips across the island.

Moncton
Moncton is the largest city in the province of New Brunswick in Eastern Canada. It is the only province in Canada where both English and French are official languages. About two-thirds of the population are English speakers and one-third French, with many being bilingual. Moncton is a wonderful city for any type of travel, including family trips. It offers a vibrant cultural scene, sports competitions, and many social activities. It is also an ideal base for star trips to the Bay of Fundy, Prince Edward Island (PEI), and other destinations along the northern coast. In Moncton, you can witness an extraordinarily unique and impressive natural phenomenon: the "tidal bore".

From Moncton, you can take a day trip to Prince Edward Island (PEI):
Prince Edward Island (PEI)
PEI is located northeast of Moncton and is connected to the mainland by a long bridge called the Confederation Bridge. It is the longest bridge in the world (12.9 km) over ice-covered waters (in winter). The island became widely famous due to the story and film series "Anne of Green Gables" and its author who lived on the island. On the north side of the island lies Green Gables Heritage Place, which features a museum dedicated to the author and her work.

Open-Air Museum: Village Historique Acadien
In northeastern New Brunswick, between Moncton and Campbellton near the Quebec border, lies a highly recommended open-air Acadian museum called Village Historique Acadien. Do not miss visiting this impressive museum spread across a vast area! It is recommended to dedicate at least 4 hours to it.

Campbellton
Campbellton is located in New Brunswick on the border with Quebec. It is worthwhile to make an overnight stop here before continuing your trip through the Gaspé Peninsula.
In the center of this charming town is a waterfront boardwalk featuring a huge statue of a fisherman catching a fish, called the Salmon Plaza Monument. Nearby stands a picturesque historical bridge named the Pont J. C. Van Horne Bridge.
The town also features a scenic lighthouse called the Campbellton Range Rear Lighthouse.
Spending 1 to 2 hours exploring the town upon arrival or the next morning before driving to Percé is sufficient.

Percé
This is, in my opinion, the most beautiful and successful town on the Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, Canada. Percé is a small tourist town of about 3,000 residents, bursting with charm and breathtaking natural scenery. Its main street is filled with hotels, restaurants, and cafes along the coastline. The view from everywhere is stunning: a giant rock with a large arch inside, accompanied by an adjacent triangular rock.
The main attraction in Percé is the national park on Bonaventure Island ("Bird Island"). You take a 1-hour scenic boat tour passing right near the towering rocks and thousands of nesting birds. You can land on the island to walk several hiking trails to the bird sanctuary before taking a short boat trip back. The port of Percé is a fantastic lookout point over the island and surrounding cliffs.
Additionally, Percé offers many other wonderful view points, museums, picturesque lighthouses nearby, hiking opportunities along the extended waterfront boardwalk, and even a zipline.

Gaspé and Forillon National Park
An impressive national park ideal for a day trip from the town of Gaspé, where it is recommended to stay overnight. Inside the park, there is a 4 km (each way) trail to "Land's End" leading to a cliff edge with a picturesque lighthouse.
The path winds along beaches, coastal cliffs, and through forests containing the greatest variety of colorful wild mushrooms I have ever seen in one place, as well as fields of wildflowers.
Along the way, you may spot bears alongside other small and large wildlife.
The park features two visitor centers, numerous hiking trails for all difficulty levels, a wild black-pebble beach home to seals and various birds, and views overlooking towering cliffs.

Day Trip of Lighthouses and Cliffs from Gaspé to Matane
Between Gaspé and your next overnight stop in Matane, you drive along the northwestern shore of the Gaspé Peninsula via a scenic highway—a paradise for lovers of lighthouses and dramatic coastal cliff scenery. Allocate a full day for this drive to stop at as many lighthouses, coastal vistas, and towering cliffs as possible.

Matane
Matane is a pleasant small town situated on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, bisected by the Matane River. A charming boardwalk runs alongside the Matane River parallel to the main street.
The town also features idyllic and photogenic gardens called "Jardins de Doris," which are highly recommended to visit. The gardens feature sculptures intertwined with flowers and greenery, farm animals, and cute small houses.

Day Trip from Matane to Quebec City
It is recommended to dedicate a day to sightseeing and attractions on the way from Matane to Quebec City.
About an hour's drive from Matane lies the Site historique maritime de la Pointe-au-Père, featuring three distinct sites: the Canadian submarine museum Onondaga, a museum commemorating the sinking of the ocean liner Empress of Ireland, and Canada's second-tallest lighthouse.
Continuing toward Quebec City (about two hours before arrival), stop for a visit and a meal in Kamouraska, a charming artist village with historic houses, flower displays, restaurants, galleries, boutique shops, and a pier area offering stunning sunsets and scenic boat tours.
Quebec City
Quebec City is rightfully considered the most beautiful city in Canada. It resembles a European city far more than a North American one. It boasts impressive historic structures, picturesque cobblestone streets, castles, fortified walls with gates, and an abundance of restaurants, cafes, shops, museums, a wide river with a cruise terminal, and tourist attractions. Dedicated at least two full days (at least three nights) to experience the best it has to offer—more time is preferred.

A short drive from Quebec City, there are several top attractions you should not miss: Montmorency Falls Park features tall, cascading waterfalls accessible by cable car or stairs, topped by a suspension bridge offering views from directly above.
Île d'Orléans, connected to the mainland by a bridge near the falls, offers views of Quebec City from its southern side. The island is an agricultural haven filled with wineries, cideries, breweries, fruit orchards (especially apples), and family-run shops producing artisanal cheeses, maple products, and chocolates.
Montreal
Montreal is located less than a 3-hour drive southwest of Quebec City and is the largest city in the province of Quebec.
Montreal is one of the most diverse cities in North America. It blends the old with the new, European culture with American lifestyle, sports with concerts. The official language of the city (and the province of Quebec) is French, though residents speak fluent English. Situated on an island, Montreal is considered the most romantic city in Canada.
Montreal is also a great destination for amusement lovers, adventure seekers, and shoppers.
Nature lovers can take day trips to the nearby Mont-Tremblant National Park.
