Premier and Plus Packages on Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises updated its Premier and Plus packages at the beginning of 2026.

The Star Princess Ship

The main change is the addition of credit for shore excursions, but along with this, several small benefits that were in the previous package were removed, such as fitness classes, the juice bar, and decadent desserts.

The beach in St. Maarten

Room Service

How much does the package cost? (Price per day per person) Prices have increased by $10 per day compared to the previous package: • On most fleet ships - $100 per day (instead of $90) • On Sun/Star Princess class ships, $105 per day These prices are for pre-booking. If you decide to add the package after boarding the ship, you will pay an additional $5 per person per day. Despite the price increase, this is one of the most cost-effective packages from any cruise line for lovers of good food and drinks who need strong internet and also utilize the excursion credit in one or two ports, as well as for those who enjoy high-quality photos and previously had to pay tens of dollars for a single picture.

Star Princess

Each ship has different restaurants for an additional fee; the larger and newer the ship, the greater the selection. On the "Enchanted Princess," there are three high-quality chef restaurants. For those without a package, there is an additional fee of $55 plus tax (tax varies depending on destinations). On a cruise from Florida to the Caribbean: 18 percent tax, meaning the cost per person per restaurant is $65. We have a package, so for nine out of the ten cruise days, we booked reservations in these three excellent restaurants (details below). Additionally, there are three recommended "casual" restaurants where you can also have lunch in some of them. At a price of up to $20 per glass, almost every beverage on the wine menu is included, including the highest quality ones.

And the internet? It allows you to browse freely simultaneously on both a laptop and a smartphone or iPad and feel right at home. Very convenient and useful both for those who continue to work during the cruise and for those who like to watch movies and upload photos and videos. I'm not a big fan of the ship's shore excursions because they are usually expensive, in large groups, and slow, but when you receive $200 per person on a 10-night cruise, it's very worthwhile to take advantage of it. We chose boat excursions that take us to a nearby island where we can spend time independently. Sailing to a nearby island outside of a ship's tour is a bit stressful in case of a malfunction or delay (the ship doesn't wait for latecomers...) For an additional $60, we booked two such tours.

The beach at Amber Cove

I'm really not a fan of self-photography (I like to photograph places, not prove I was there), but if it's included in the package, then here and there we take high-quality studio photos as souvenirs. I don't miss the canceled fitness classes or the decadent ice creams at all (I actually do miss the juice bar), and in my opinion, the new package is more recommended and higher quality. Those who are satisfied with meals in the main dining rooms, casual restaurants, and the buffet, and cheaper alcoholic drinks (up to $15 per glass), and are not interested in shore excursions and photography, will do just fine with the Plus package, which costs $65-70 when pre-booked (depending on the ship).
