The city of
Edmonton is in Western Canada is the state of Alberta
(it is the capital of the state). It is not far from
Jasper, the charming national park in the Canadian
Rockies. Edmonton is a pleasant and welcoming city but
its number one attraction is undoubtedly West Edmonton
Mall – the biggest shopping centre in the world! Truly
heaven for shoppers.
It has over 800 shops and over 100 restaurants.
But not only shoppers will enjoy this humongous place. Under one roof you will find a wonderful water park (indoors and heated, of course), an amusement park, mini golf, bowling, a pirate ship, an ice rink, aquarium, dolphin show, and much more.
Inside the mall there is also a very unique hotel called Fantasyland Hotel which has, besides standard hotel rooms, unique themed rooms: African savannah room, roman room, igloo, trucks, Hollywood, and so on. In these rooms, the entire design – from wallpapers to furniture and beds – matches the theme. Many of them have large, beautifully designed Jacuzzis. The real surprise is that the prices are affordable and usually include free entry to the water park, the theme park, and other attractions (depending on the package or deal you choose).
I recommend staying here for at least two days before or after visiting the Canadian Rockies.
The greatest advantage of this place is that there is no need to worry about the weather, as everything is indoors. Therefore, even during a terrible storm you can swim in a big, warm wave pool or ride a roller coaster.
