Trip to a Beach Near Maceió - Brazil

Maceió can be reached on a cruise ship to South America. It is a large city with over one million residents, known primarily for its wonderful beaches. This is the place to take a tour to an enchanting beach and spend several hours there. Since the ship stays in this port for only half a day, and because the best beaches are located more than a 40-minute drive away, it is advisable here as well to take an excursion arranged by the ship so as not to be late returning and miss it...

The ship offers tours to several popular beaches, including Paripueira Beach, which is part of a nature reserve called Costa dos Corais, Frances Beach, and the most recommended of all: Gunga Beach, situated between the lagoon and the sea south of Maceió. You reach Gunga Beach via an approximately 45-minute bus ride to the mouth of the lagoon, where, at a place called San Miguel Estuary, you board a boat that sails for about half an hour until reaching the magical beach. The boat ride is scenic, accompanied by lively local music and refreshments of tropical fruits.

At this wonderful beach, you can choose between swimming in the lagoon, where the water is calm and smooth as a mirror, or at the edge of the lagoon near the open sea, where it is rougher. The beach is soft and sandy, lined with restaurants, food stalls, and vendors selling local delicacies, drinks, and souvenirs.

For those not content with just swimming or lounging on the seashore, there is a wealth of activities, ranging from water sports including motorboat rides, paddleboarding, banana boats, and a cool specialized water-gliding ride, to buggy tours across nearby colorful sand dunes.

The way back to the ship again includes a boat cruise and a bus ride back to the port. The entire bus ride travels along a long coastal strip on one side and city suburbs on the other, passing by two deep lagoons along the way.

During the drive, you will receive plenty of information and explanations about the city, its residents, and its major industries, and you will be able to see the ship waiting for you with all its pampering amenities at the port.
